Scirus - for scientific information This is a quote from their site: "Scirus is the most comprehensive scientific research tool on the web. With over 450 million scientific items indexed at last count, it allows researchers to search for not only journal content but also scientists' homepages, courseware, pre-print server material, patents and institutional repository and website information." It would be interesting to analyze systematically, how it compares to and where it differs from Google scholar. Searching for myself (someone I usually know quite well), the results did turn out be quite different. So it might be a good place to go for an additional search.
