Search the LIFE Photo Archive Using Google Image Search

Google image search has been great. Now it is possible to search the LIFE Photo Archive for their photos, many of them still unpublished. There are two ways to do so:

• Go to the LIFE image search site or

• Do a regular Google image search and just add to your search string: "source:life"

Try for example:

• source:life nursing
• source:life frankfurt

So far this is great! Wonderful photos of great historic value.

But unfortunately I could find nowhere instructions on the licensing of the photos. Am I able to use them on my website? In a publication? What should I do if I want to obtain a licence? Does anyone know?
