Again another great TED talk. Barry Schwartz talks about the need for practical wisdom. Bureaucracy and its rules make tend to oppress practical wisdom. Practical wisdom is knowing when to break the rules.
Barry Schwartz' idea that rules produce mediocrity is quite interesting when applied to evidence based practice.
Evidence based rules that on average promise the best results produce results that are just mediocre (at a higher level).
