Use web 2.0 tools to prepare for a conference

In his block post Chris Brogan details 27 things to be done before a conference. It is fascinating to see how many steps involve web 2.0 tools. Like if you want to meet people at the conference:

  • Search recent images of them on FlickR or Google Image Search.
  • Find their blogs or Twitter streams
  • Search for the conference blog
  • Blog search (Google Blog Search or Technorati) for posts about the event.
  • Announce that you are attending using Twitter, blog or social network like Facebook
  • Research people you want to meet by LinkedIn or similar
  • ...
